Senior Manager Collaboration Finance

Summary

The Sr. Manager, Collaboration Finance position will be responsible for supporting Seattle Genetics product collaborations from a financial and reporting perspective. The position will be responsible for oversight of month end collaboration closing activities, quarterly contractual reporting requirements, budgeting and forecasting collaboration activities, and communication with our internal and external financial partners. This position may also be responsible for supervising employees supporting the previously mentioned activities.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the various teams within Seattle Genetics to perform the required financial activities for partnered programs
  • Partner with collaborator Finance partners to achieve program financial objectives
  • Perform necessary budget versus actual collaboration reporting
  • Lead corporate budgeting and long range plan activities in support of multiple corporate collaborations
  • Oversee month end close activities related to necessary collaboration accruals
  • Oversee reporting and analysis supplied to joint collaboration committees
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports with associated variance analysis
  • Collaborate with peers in Accounting and Finance to perform ad-hoc analysis to explain variances versus budget and/or forecasts and prior periods
  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including supporting updates to financial schedules in SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q and Proxy
  • Assist with the maintenance of the company’s financial systems and processes
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to understand complex Excel models developed internally or externally by consultants or partners
  • Attention to detail required; including strong prioritization, communication and organization skills
  • Solid team player

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years general accounting/finance experience
  • Managerial experience a plus
  • Biotech/healthcare experience a plus
  • Experience with complex partnering arrangement a plus
  • Self-starter with impeccable ethics and integrity, proven communication skills – verbal and written, with a clear ability to effectively communicate amongst different levels within and outside of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines on competing priorities
  • Track record in identifying process improvements and successfully implementing change

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or greater required
