Since integrating into Lundbeck in October 2019, Lu-SBP has supported commercial launch of Lundbeck’s first biologic product (Vyepti) and advancement of a growing biologics pipeline in collaboration with our Copenhagen-based Late-Stage Development and Production groups. The Lu-SBP team leads and supports the development of new product candidates from cell line development through commercial validation of Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing processes. SUMMARY
The Downstream Process Development group is seeking an individual to be part of a team developing expression and purification processes for antibody candidates supporting preclinical and clinical development. The primary responsibility is to rapidly identify scalable purification methods for new antibodies and support these processes to clinical scale.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Screen lead antibody and cell line candidates for appropriate development characteristics
- Purify and formulate antibody preparations to support analytical and pre-clinical studies
- Collaborate in purification development from multiple expression platforms
- Perform purification process transfer internally and externally
- Design and execute purification screening, scouting and characterization experiments
vWork collaboratively with upstream process development and analytical development groups
- Creates written reports on experimental design, analysis and conclusions, and deliver presentations on findings
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical industry or relevant combination of education and experience totaling 9+ years
- Extensive experience purifying proteins using column chromatography
- Skilled in Unicorn-based AKTA programming and result evaluation.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry or related discipline
- Strong resin chemistry knowledge
- Familiarity with antibody purification scale-up and manufacturing considerations
- Wide background in protein analytical techniques
- Labkey familiarity
- Experienced with plate-based screening methods
- Octet and Surface Plasmon Resonance experience
- Working knowledge of JMP statistical analysis software
