Summary

The Associate Director of Cell Biology is accountable for building and leading a highly collaborative team of Scientists and Research Associates toward increasing the sophistication, capacity, and efficiency of discovery and early validation of novel cancer therapeutics. The Cell Biology team is central to establishing foundational mechanistic knowledge of the cellular interactions with our cancer therapeutics that contribute to drug efficacy. This team is responsible for developing and employing cutting-edge technology and assay systems to generate, integrate, and democratize data from a variety of cell biological systems to inspire the creation and validation of innovative cancer therapeutics. In addition, the head of cell biology is accountable for supporting the career development of their teammates and maintaining an excellent culture that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. with 8+ years of postdoctoral experience or a B.A/B.S with 14+ years of experience in cancer drug discovery and cell biology with a proven track record of developing and/or applying cutting edge technology to explore cell biological hypotheses.
  • Track record of significant and innovative biological discoveries in academic, biotech, or Pharma settings.
  • Minimum of four years directly managing a team of scientific staff with the responsibility of hiring, developing, and accountability of performance.
  • Selfless, passionate, and highly collaborative leader.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback, coach, mentor, and develop employees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to absorb information and succinctly relay critical information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and a variety of disciplines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience building and leading diverse and scientifically innovative teams including biologists and engineers Systems biology minded
  • Deep expertise in cancer signaling pathways and mechanistic biology
  • A passion for data analysis, data interpretation, and innovative decision-making
  • Well informed on all areas of drug development from target validation through pre-clinical research
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate LIMS with screening datasets
