Summary
Seagen is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Manager, HR Operations. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that the business deliverables are being executed on time and with high quality. They will be responsible for monitoring the services delivered by HR operations and support the team in continuously improving our processes. They will partner closely with the HR Technology, process excellence and reporting teams to define scalable processes with a focus on data governance. The role will closely partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and other cross functional teams to execute the catalog of services provided by HR operations. Besides managing significant work such as this, they will also provide support to other cross functional projects as the subject matter expert. The role will partner closely with the HR Services leader and other members of HR Leadership team on key strategic initiatives around the vision of creating an empowered and fulfilled workforce through an empowered and fulfilled HR team.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the HR Operations team to complete transactional work across the employee lifecycle. Communicate, plan, and prioritize to execute daily responsibilities
- Monitor and report on process SLA, defects, quality, and team’s productivity targets
- Act as the first escalation point for the stakeholders and HR Operations team. Look into the escalations, identify the root cause, and implement change to avoid future reoccurrences
- Listen, know, and understand the voice of the HR customer and use this information to drive process enhancements and improve end user experience.
- Lead the team in building, implementing, and maintaining effective and efficient HR business processes
- Comfortably transition between big picture, strategic thinking and tactical, day-to-day planning and execution
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal stakeholders
- Identify and resolve issues independently and manage initiatives even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
- Own regular business reviews with leadership and operational team to audit ongoing performance against key process metrics and goals
- Partner with HR generalists and HR business partners to define processes which have an impact on HR operations while focusing on end user experience
- Directly interact with employees and managers to answer questions and provide support
- Partner closely with the Global HR organization to standardize and centralize processes within HR operations
- Maintain and represent the HR Services portfolio roadmap and ecosystem impacts. Identify and facilitate connections and best practices between program owners to ensure dependencies are clear and risks are mitigated.
- Understand and analyze HR data, reports, to determine relevant trends and improve employee data quality in HR systems
- Support internal and external process audits by providing documentation, participating in the audit walk throughs and work on remediation plans
- Lead and direct the team's efforts on general process improvement, technological evolution, and strategy to improve efficiency and enable capacity and growth. Provide mentorship and direction to all members of the HR Operations team.
- Partner closely with the payroll team to define processes through standardization and automation which can further improve the pay quality
- Lead, coach, develop and inspire team members to plan, prioritize and execute assignments with exceptional service delivery
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant work experience resulting in a solid body of HR and business knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of HR functions
- 3+ years of HR operations experience in a high-growth company, with a distributed or remote workforce
- 2+ years of people management experience, with a history of career coaching, mentorship, and support to both deliver results and grow morale and team culture
- Experience of working in HRIS systems (Ultimate software, and SAP SuccessFactors is preferred)
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, case management and knowledge management tools (ServiceNow and JIRA is preferred.)
- Experience of working on requirements gathering, process documentation, process design and change management
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field or the equivalent experience.
- Experience of taking end-to-end ownership and driving results; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or programs- work prioritization, planning, and coordination across teams
- Analytical, comfortable with large data sets, and able to extract business insights from analysis
- Ability to effectively partner with different levels of the organization and across functions to achieve results
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and deliver high quality project plans and other related documentation
- Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a positive work environment
- Solutions oriented approach to with demonstrated ability to balance HR and business objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
- HRIS implementation experience is preferred
- SHRM or other HR certification preferred
- Experience of working on requirements gathering, process documentation, process design and change management
- Understanding of lean principles of process management and improvement
