Zymeworks is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of next-generation bispecific and multifunctional biotherapeutics, initially focused on the treatment of cancer. Zymeworks’ suite of complementary therapeutic platforms and its fully-integrated drug development engine provide the flexibility and compatibility to precisely engineer and develop highly-differentiated product candidates.

Zymeworks is seeking a highly-motivated professional who is looking to grow their career with our company.

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Operations and will be based in Vancouver, BC.

As a condition of employment, Zymeworks requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide verification of such.

Key Responsibilities

Overview

  • Performs basic physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of lab materials.

Receiving

  • Receives incoming orders and verifies contents against pack lists and purchase orders.
  • Processes receipts against purchase order in ERP software and files receipts/pack lists.
  • Confirms accuracy of invoices against the delivery of goods, as appropriate.
  • Notifies recipients or delivers received orders to recipients as required.

Shipping

  • Prepares and packs materials for shipments.
  • Coordinates local and domestic shipments requiring basic documentation.
  • Schedules couriers and tracks shipments to delivery.
  • Maintains stock of shipping related supplies.
  • Maintains database entries of inbound and outbound shipments.

Inventory Management

  • Assists with inventory stocking and organization.
  • Ensures inventory areas are maintained in a clean, safe and well-organized manner.
  • Provides back up to Material Handler II position, as needed.

Other

  • Ensures all work areas are well-maintained, clean and tidy.
  • Supports movement of general materials throughout the building.
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with all relevant OS&H standards/regulations and established policies and practices.
  • Fosters effective and collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, management, and external partners.

Qualifications and Education

  • Minimum 1-year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and defined processes.
  • Strong customer service skills with a proactive, problem solving approach.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be willing to be trained on Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHIMS.
  • Familiarity with courier portal such as FedEx ship manager is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel, database experience is an asset.
  • Experience receiving temperature sensitive materials is an asset.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment is an asset.
