Summary:

  • The Senior Experience Designer is a key member of the Experience Design (XD) team within the Global IT organization at Seagen. This Designer will create high value, high quality UX for solutions and processes rolled out and supported by Global IT. The Senior Experience Designer is a professional with a full understanding of area of specialization and good understanding of related disciplines.
  • The XD team strives to make a meaningful impact on day-to-day work, by creatively apply design thinking. Impactful design work equates to downstream positive effect on our patient and healthcare provider customers and can be achieved with the power of human-centered design.
  • You will be most successful if you are a seasoned Designer with a background in technology design where you had to make something inherently complicated as simple as possible without oversimplifying it. You are passionate about creating delightful experiences and at the same time adaptable to changing business and engineering needs. You are comfortable translating deep technical conversations through a lens of user needs, empathy, and ethical considerations.

Requirements or Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams of technical + business stakeholders, facilitating the design and definition of intuitive experiences and systems.
  • Listen to and develop deep empathy for the unique needs of life sciences technology users; identify opportunities where design will move the needle in employee experience.
  • Seek to understand user and Seagen goals as well as market, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Design and deliver design system components, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and or other artifacts needed to build shared understanding of user journeys across multiple discipline as well as messaging to align.
  • Design experiences that feel simple and straightforward, even when the underlying process or technology may be complex. Balance design decisions between user experience and service design, with a 360-degree view of a Global IT solution or service and its stakeholders.
  • Communicate visual designs with storytelling and clear definition of value.
  • Foster a healthy design practice by giving and receiving feedback with maturity and perspective.
  • Be an evangelist for design thinking within Global IT, and across Seagen.
  • Define, monitor, and measure quantifiable outcomes of design decisions.
  • Develop a point of view on how your work integrates into the wider ecosystem of IT and Seagen. Individual contributor with no people management responsibilities.
  • Work on assignments that are quite complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 9+ years of UX/UI/Systems/Service design
  • You have a strong portfolio showcasing your work including, visual design system components, mobile-first, and responsive design
  • You have deep experience using standard UX tools to translate ideas to working product

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bonus—You have specific experience in life sciences.
