Position Summary

This role will support the Associate Director, Portfolio Management and Business Operations in advancing key portfolio initiatives at Seagen. In this capacity, the Manager of Portfolio and Business Operations will project manage and support key portfolio initiatives that advance Seagen’s ability to develop medicines for patients. The Manager of Portfolio and Business Operations will assist with preparation of portfolio reports and collaborate with stakeholders to understand and respond to future needs with new / enhanced reports and tools. The Portfolio and Business Operations Manager will also play a key role in the development and maintenance of the enterprise portfolio management tool and other portfolio infrastructure to help advance Seagen’s PPM capabilities. The Manager will facilitate and lead working groups, supporting effective communication of expectations, establish preparation processes as well as operational support for key portfolio initiatives and reviews.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management support to cross-functional working teams as needed by the business to answer strategic questions and implement solutions to support the company’s growth.
  • Assist with development and distribution of portfolio reports to highlight insights from across early and late-stage programs.
  • Support development and maintenance of enterprise portfolio management tools, including organizing data input and review for key portfolio metrics.
  • Identify and develop new portfolio reports / tools to address evolving business questions as well as distributing information and updates including portfolio insights, key program developments, and governance decision outcomes.
  • Support Portfolio Operating Model processes, including outlining timelines, defining inputs required from multiple stakeholders, and supporting internal approval processes.
  • Support preparation efforts for bi-annual portfolio reviews.
  • Regularly update public facing portfolio management information, processes, and guides to provide transparency into the portfolio operating model and decision-making.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical role within the R&D/pharmaceutical/biotech or consulting industry.
  • Prior cross-functional project or program management experience required.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech landscape, R&D trends, and business strategy; oncology disease area experience preferred.
  • Prior R&D Portfolio Management experience within the life sciences.
  • Prior experience with data visualization tools (ie: PowerBI, Tableau) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent business acumen, demonstrated ability to integrate diverse perspectives into strategic recommendations and align teams to strategy to achieve business and project objectives.
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • Adaptive leadership style with ability to influence teams without formal authority.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree in biomedical sciences, business or other discipline related to drug development highly preferred.
