Summary:

A Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for planning and managing security measures designed to protect the organization's networks and systems. The analyst will monitor current threats and respond to security alerts.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Will monitor traffic for any unusual activity or unauthorized access attempts. They will also configure systems and ensure that network and IT security policies are adhered to. Part of their role may also encompass control of change management, ensuring orderly transitions during upgrades, fixes, and patches.
  • They may be involved in the design, build and implementation of an organization's IT Security infrastructure within their job role and the testing of the organization's IT Security strategy.
  • Management of IT networks such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) will normally be necessary.
  • Security Risk Compliance Team coordinator responsibilities.
  • Responsible for Company Meetings monthly decks.
  • Assistance with Audit Committee documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT
  • Network+ certification (optional)
  • Security+ certification (optional)
  • Understanding of NIST CSF, and if not NIST then ISO 27001/2 or the Center for Internet Security Critical Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defense
  • A good understanding of the organization's IT systems will be necessary in order for the duties of the job to be carried out efficiently.
  • Proficient with log review and pattern detection techniques
  • Proficient conducting and responding to security audits
  • Proficient with performing and documenting post-incident reviews and root cause analysis
  • Proficient with project managing the efforts of internal staff and vendors
  • Familiarity with the role of supporting technology, such as firewalls, EDR, WAF, IDS/IPS, DLP, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with penetration and vulnerability testing
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation efforts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of information technology concepts, including devices, servers, and networks
  • Basic programming/scripting competency (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby, Perl)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
