Position Summary:

The Principal System Analyst for CRM – Medical Affairs is a key member of the IT Business Application Management team and is responsible for providing technical solutions to solve process and system issues for the Medical Affairs team that uses our CRM solutions, and their business stakeholders. Acting as subject matter expert where appropriate, the Analyst has responsibility for guiding the long-term technical direction of our Medical Affairs systems and processes and providing product-related support and guidance to the organization. This position reports to the Associate Director of CRM in Global IT.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the maintenance and upgrades of existing systems as required
  • Designing new frameworks and functionality
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
  • Risk mitigation planning
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads, the CRM Product Owner, and broader IT team to resolve issues and ensure solutions are viable and consistent
  • Creating system guidelines and manuals for the organization
  • Conducting training sessions and workshops on system processes
  • Conducting regular reviews of systems and generating reports on efficiencies and improvement areas
  • Working with the Business Analyst, structuring and prioritizing business requirements and communicating plans with stakeholders for review and approval
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and development sprints
  • Identifying gaps between business needs and technical capabilities and working to find innovative solutions that meet business objectives or create new business opportunities
  • Representing the needs of our customers to the solution vendor(s)
  • Visioning, planning, and delivering new and / or existing strategic platform capabilities that create tangible business value

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-12+ years' experience supporting and implementing large-scale IT solutions, preferably as a System Analyst for CRM in a pharma/biotech environment
  • 5+ years’ experience working with vendors providing large-scale IT solutions
  • Ability to describe and translate complex technical issues in everyday terms for business stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodology
  • In-depth knowledge of product development architecture
  • Proficiency in the use of analytics tools
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles and design quality standards
  • Ability to work with large teams in a matrix organization working closely with Solution Architect, other Developers, Business Analysts, and end users
  • Proven knowledge of IT solutions and application management through various product cycles and business environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a System Analyst for Veeva CRM, Salesforce and/or Medical Information Cloud
  • Certification in Veeva CRM, Salesforce and/or Medical Information Cloud development solutions
  • Familiarity with biotech/pharma business processes and applications
  • Familiarity with GxP and ICH regulations and 21CFR, Part 11

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience

The hiring pay range for this position is $127,000 to $164,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
