Summary:
As an Executive Assistant, you will work closely with the Sr. Vice President and Research Leadership Team to provide seamless executive-level support, project management, and event/meeting management among other duties. You will work with the Sr. Vice President and leadership team to help drive the rhythm of business, supervise, and collaborate with the administrative team to support team, functional, and corporate goals.
The position requires excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work with multiple levels within Seagen. Working successfully under pressure in a fast-paced team environment, building and maintaining effective working relationships, accommodating diverse work styles, and being fair and unbiased are essential to success in this role, along with attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
This position is located in Bothell, WA and reports to the Senior Vice President of Research.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provides primary executive-level support to the Sr. Vice President and Leadership Team, including complex calendar management, email management, travel and expense coordination, and project management. Responsible, along with Executive Director of Strategy, Operations and Program Management, for creating and maintaining the rhythm of the business through proactive planning and execution of administrative support to ensure a seamless experience for leadership and all employees within the division.
- Support of Leadership Team (calendar, ROB, expenses, etc.), PowerPoint presentations, special projects.
- Supervises and mentors the administrative staff in Research and related functions, including performance reviews, goal setting, and talent development.
- Establishes and executes administrative procedures for the team staying within corporate policy.
- Creates and maintains central calendar for team to include all corporate events and major business activities.
- Collaborates with Sr. Vice President & Executive Director on managing the Research team annual calendar, governance meetings, and department budget.
- Participates in leadership meetings, gather topics, and help run the agenda. Follow up to leadership with meeting minutes and deliverables.
- Participate in Executive Administrative Team meetings, trainings, functions, and events including team goals and team initiatives.
- Go-to-person for questions regarding department and corporate procedure.
- Oversees team space needs as required and partners with Facilities to develop space plans.
- Collaborates with technology partners and team leaders to maintain email distribution lists, organization charts, SharePoint Online sites, and Microsoft Teams site and channels.
- Develops & maintains strategic working relationships with key business stakeholders/leaders across the organization, acts as a team advocate and ensures the team’s needs are considered within the larger organization.
- Facilitates and executes staff meetings, team meetings, workshops, training classes, events and off-sites: including agenda management, meeting logistics, material preparation, and catering; in collaboration with team admins and overseeing admin participation.
- Supports morale events and/or broader team-wide events in collaboration with the admin community and leads engagement efforts for the Research team.
- Exercises excellent judgment in dealing with confidential information and ensuring accurate and timely distribution of information.
- Maintains professional presence at all times, as a representative of the Research team.
- Provides back-up support to Research administrative team as needed
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in an administrative role supporting senior management in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment; some C-suite level support experience preferred
- 3-5 years of experience supervising, mentoring, and developing administrative staff
- Experience and high degree of comfort working in a multi-located environment across global time zones
- Project Management experience a plus
- Ability to apply knowledge of the business and integrate into daily tasks to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to prioritize work and deliver projects completed and on time while facing multiple distractions and interruptions
- Demonstrates and role models confidence, emotional intelligence, and professionalism
- Ability to pay close attention to detail when working with complex schedules or projects and react with an appropriate sense of urgency to situations or events that require a quick response or turnaround
- Ability to independently problem-solve to quickly resolve issues to maintain business continuity
- The ability to maintain a positive attitude with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; must work well under pressure
- The desire to learn and grow with the business
- Able to work successfully in a team environment by building effective working relationships internally and externally with all levels of employees with different working styles and perspectives
- Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Seattle Genetics in all areas of responsibility
- Highly proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proficient with technology including online chat and video programs with a preference for experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Experience with SharePoint and SharePoint Online preferred
Education:
- College degree strongly preferred; will consider relevant experience in lieu of education

The hiring pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $116,600.00 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
